  New Zealand (Aotearoa: White Long Cloud)

  "Aotearoa" is an  another name of New Zealand, which means "White Long Cloud" in the local "Maori" language.  NZ is one of Commonwealth (British colony) countries.  NZ national flag features both "Union Jack" and "Southern Cross""Kiwi bird" and "Silver Fern" are icons of NZ.  4.2 million people are living in this country.  Majority of them are European descent.  However, approximately 14% people are "Maori" .  The Asian population accounts for 10% (420,000) in total and two thirds of the Asian population (280,000) is living in Auckland.

Geography

NZ is located in the Southern Hemisphere.  NZ consists of two islands: the North Island and the South Island.  Among the 4.2 million population, 1.3 million people, which is approximately 30% of the total population are living in Auckland.  While Auckland, Hamilton and Wellington are located in the North Island, Christchurch and Dunedin are located in the South Island.

In Sports, NZ is especially famous for its "All Blacks" of Rugby.  In addition, Cricket in the Summer season, Netball for female and Soccer are the major sports in NZ.
